Where fashionistas meet foodies, Causeway Bay is one of the most convenient places to stay when visiting Hong Kong. Here are the best ways to travel from Hong Kong International Airport to Causeway Bay.

Easiest: Airport Express + shuttle bus

  • Route: Airport Station > Hong Kong Station > shuttle bus
  • Time: ~50 minutes
  • Cost: HK$86.00 one way

The most direct way is to take the Airport Express (teal line) to Hong Kong Station (24 minutes). You can book discounted Airport Express tickets through Klook. A one-way ticket to Hong Kong Station is HK$86.00 (originally HK$115.00 one way). A return ticket between Hong Kong Station and Airport Station is HK$146.00. Just download the QR code you receive after purachase, and swipe at the gate to enter and leave the station.

From Hong Kong Station, the Airport Express provides free shuttle bus service from Hong Kong Station to major hotels around Causeway Bay. Check the closest hotel stop from your destination on the Airport Express website.

Fastest: Airport Express + MTR

  • Route: Airport Station > Hong Kong Station > Causeway Bay Station
  • Time: ~40 minutes
  • Cost: HK$91.70 one way

You can take the Airport Express (teal line) all the way to Hong Kong Station (24 minutes/HK$86.00 through Klook). Then, exit Hong Kong Station and walk towards Central Station (10 minutes). Hong Kong Station and Central Station are located within one bigger station well connected by air-conditioned tunnels and escalators.

From there, you can take the Island Line (blue line) towards Chai Wan. Causeway Bay Station is only a few stops from Central Station (HK$5.70).

You can take one of the S buses that runs between the airport and Tung Chung Station, the nearest MTR station to the airport excluding the stations on the Airport Express Line.

S1 is the most frequent airport bus running between the two stations (HK$3.50).

After getting off at Tung Chung Station, take the Tung Chung Line (orange line) towards Hong Kong Station.

From Hong Kong Station, switch to Island Line (blue line) towards Chai Wan and you will arrive at Causeway Bay Station shortly.

The fare of the MTR journey is HK$26.00 but is slightly cheaper (HK$22.90) if you use an Octopus Card.
