The Noonday Gun is a former naval artillery gun located adjacent to the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter that is fired each day at noon.
The gun is owned and operated by Jardine Matheson. With a few interruptions and a few replacements, the gun has been fired everyday continuously since the 1860s.
The site of the Noonday Gun can be accessed via a tunnel under Gloucester Road that starts in the basement of the Excelsior Hotel that is also owned and operated by Jardine Matheson.
