The Lamma Fun Day Beach Music Festival is much, much more than just an awesome all-day beach party and sports event -- it\u2019s a party with a cause. The annual Lamma Fun Day has been held since 2000 (except for a short pause during the pandemic), with the goal of raising funds for the Child Welfare Scheme Hong Kong (CWS), an organisation which supports and empowers disadvantaged and vulnerable children, young people and women in Nepal. What happens? This free, fun and family-friendly festival comprises two races, two stages of bands, an impressive lineup of performers and DJs, plus fundraising stalls, hot food and cold drinks, and live charity auctions, all raising money for CWS and Right4Children projects. The day kicks off with two well-known charity races: the Lamma14, and the Lamma8 race, both of which attract runners of all levels and ages who will run a route around parts of beautiful Lamma island. The fundraising stalls have lots of cold drinks and great food, with all proceeds going to the CWS. This much-loved music and community event has supported numerous CWS initiatives since 2000. The last five Lamma Fun Days have helped rebuild schools damaged by the earthquake and raised funds for the Child-Friendly Schools initiative in Nepal.
