Every winter the Central Harbourfront Event Space hosts a two-month-long family-friendly carnival, complete with rides, games, performers, and huge plush toys to be won.
What happens?
This is a popular day out for families on Christmas and New Year holidays. The carnival features traditional rides like a carousel, chair swings, giant slides, bouncy castles, and even an outdoor ice rink for skating.
Highlights 2025/26
Now in its 11th year, the AIA Carnival returns with the theme “Hong Kong Tradition”, celebrating the city’s cultural heritage. This year features 30+ rides and attractions, live entertainment, iconic photo spots, and tempting food and drink vendors — all set against Hong Kong’s famed skyline.
The renowned Gandeys Circus also makes a comeback with the all new “The Winter World Circus”, guaranteed to amaze audiences of all ages with breath taking performances.

The carnival requires an entry ticket, and additional tokens for the games and rides. Ticket prices vary by day, with different prices for adults and children (3-11 years).

How to get there and nearby attractions
The Central Harbourfront Event Space is right next to the Hong Kong Observation Wheel, the Star Ferry Pier, and the Hong Kong Maritime Museum. It is also a few minutes’ walk to nearby Central attractions such as the Peak Tram and the Mid Levels Escalator.
