In a vertical city like Hong Kong, you've got to utilize what little space you've got. And when every building reaches up to the sky, these Kowloon rooftop bars are a highly coveted thing to have. You wouldn't know it by standing at street level, but many office buildings and hotels are hiding fabulous bars, restaurants and patios on their rooftops. You just have to know where to find them. If you're staying in Kowloon, you're in luck, because some of Hong Kong's most famous rooftop bars are on this side, with the best views of Hong Kong's legendary skyline. Kowloon's sky-high rooftop bars While these bars may not have outdoor patios, they are all famous for their unforgettable views of Victoria Harbour and the city lights. (Pro tip: If you want to reserve a seat right by the window, to really have uninterrupted views, contact the bars in advance to make a reservation.) Ozone Who can resist being able to boast that you actually had a drink at the tallest bar in the world? Your ears are guaranteed to feel the pressure as you take the designated elevator to Ozone, at the 118th floor of the International Commerce Centre in West Kowloon. From Hong Kong's tallest skyscraper, it's a view that's hard to beat. Drinks are pricey, but it's worth it to look down over pretty much everything. Aqua A stone's throw from the waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui, this veteran is one of Kowloon's most famous sky-high bars. With a huge glass facade providing uninterrupted harbour views, Aqua is where the beautiful people go to sip fancy cocktails, so be sure to dress appropriately. Hutong The gorgeous dark-wood interiors and traditional Chinese design at Hutong are just as stunning as the view. Inspired by China's old-fashioned hutong, or alleyways, this sophisticated bar offers 360-degree views of the skyline below. Hutong is the downstairs neighbour to Aqua, on the 28th Floor of One Peking. Felix Put on your fancy pants before heading to Felix. Located at the 28th floor of the landmark luxury hotel The Peninsula, this bar in Tsim Sha Tsui is a long-time favourite. The view is amazing even from the bathrooms; and one of its claims to fame is actually its mensroom, where the loos stand along a huge glass wall facing the city below. But whether you're admiring the skyline from the bar or from the bathroom, Felix is definitely one of TST's most famous bars with a view. Sky Lounge This stylish bar on the top floor of the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers has a prime spot in Tsim Sha Tsui. The dress code at Sky Lounge is casual, and the bar is open until 1:30 am on Fridays and Saturdays, making it a great place to end your night after a long day of sightseeing. You can also have afternoon tea there while admiring the skyline. Kowloon's incredible outdoor patios Eye Bar You won't believe the view from Eye Bar's outdoor terrace on the 30th floor. (Don't look over the edge of the railing---it will make your stomach flip!) This gorgeous bar and restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui faces the harbour, and it's especially stunning just before sunset, or better yet, before 8 pm when the Symphony of Lights starts. You'll have the best seat in the house for sure. Wooloomooloo Prime This Australian steakhouse has really made a name for itself in Hong Kong's rooftop scene. Woo Prime's location on Nathan Road overlooks Kowloon Park below, and faces Victoria Harbour. Best of all, the views are amazing both from the outside patio, and from the restaurant. Take your pick---whether inside or out, daytime or night, you'll still be blown away by the world below. Vibes Surrounded by walls of bamboo and subtle lighting, Vibes is cool, classy and comfy, with outdoor patio furniture and sofas to sit back and relax on. Found on the 5th floor of The Mira, Vibes has a prime spot in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui. Happy hour is available on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays, so sit back and sip a cold mojito. The Garage Bar The Garage Bar offers a very funky open-air concept, with cute food trucks parked up on its outdoor patio. Located on the 4th floor of the Cordis Hotel, this bar is known for its wide selection of local and international craft beers, and brews its very own private label, TGB Golden Ale.
