Having a drink at one of Hong Kong's sky-high rooftop bars will truly make you feel like you're on top of the world. The view of the bustling city below, the green mountains in the distance, and the warm air blowing in off the South China Sea all combine in a wondrous mixture that's perfect for outdoor drinking. And best of all, with Hong Kong's mild climate, you can enjoy rooftop bars year-round. If you're staying on Hong Kong Island, there's no shortage of rooftop bars to choose from, whether you're right in the city centre, or on the quieter south side of the island. Sevva It doesn't get much better than Sevva. Located right in the heart of Central, overlooking the financial district and Statue Square, Sevva has a prime spot on the 25th floor. The dress code here is 'Smart Casual or Easy-Glam', but it's better to err on the side of glam. This is an amazing place to come right about at sunset time, when the lights from the iconic banks start to light up and dance. SKYE Roofbar This stylish rooftop bar on the 27th floor of The Park Lane Hotel has an in-house DJ that plays all night long (well, until 1 am), and an impressive cocktail list. SKYE comprises both an indoor restaurant and an outdoor patio. You'll love the cool lights of this modern-style illuminated bar, with a great view of Causeway Bay below. ALTO Bar and Grill If the beautiful interiors of ALTO Bar and Grill fail to impress, then you'll be wowed by its commanding view over Causeway Bay. While watching the world below, try one of their signature cocktails, like the Tonight's Tonic, The Climax and Rooftop Magic. Cruise Terrace Perched on the 23rd floor of the Hyatt Centric hotel, the gorgeous Cruise Terrace offers alfresco dining and drinks on the hotel's 23rd Floor (West Tower). If you're with a group, make a reservation for one of their lounge sofas so you and your friends can sit back and relax. Or simply grab a seat and admire the million-dollar view. Sugar Sugar is a popular spot with office workers in Quarry Bay, Tai Koo Shing and North Point. This beautiful rooftop deck on the 32 floor of EAST offers cocktails, international tapas, and lots of music, with a resident DJ. The outdoor tables are on a first-come-first-served basis, so if you're going on a Friday night, better get there early, or it will be standing room only. Above The laid-back rooftop bar of the funky Ovolo Southside Hotel is a breath of fresh air, literally. Located close to Ocean Park, and with easy access to the Wong Chuk Hang MTR Station, ABOVE by Kömune is a fun and friendly place to enjoy a meal and some drinks. From Wednesdays to Sundays you can take advantage of 'Sunset Hour' from 5 pm to 8 pm, with a list of cool cocktails and complimentary snacks. Sit back under the patio umbrellas and feel the warm air blowing in from the ocean, with beautiful views both day and night. Plume Perched on the roof of H Queen's, a "hub of art and lifestyle", Plume is the building's crown jewel. The open terrace and extensive wine menu make it a great place to relax.
