LIV Golf Hong Kong March 2024 Whether you frequent the putting green or not, LIV Golf Hong Kong, the inaugural Hong Kong edition of the popular professional men's golfing tour, promises tons of fun for all in the family. Electronic artist GRYFFIN is set to perform after the end of play on March 9, and the Fan Village will see a dedicated kids' zone and a wide range of interactive activities suitable for all ages. 2. Four Trails Mini March to May 2024 As the name suggests, the Four Trails Mini is a racing event covering key sections of four of Hong Kong's most iconic hiking trails: the Hong Kong Trail, the MacLehose Trail, the Wilson Trail, and the Lantau Trail. Notably, this race has been accredited by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA). Beginning on March 3, the Lantau Race wil be the first to kick off. Hong Kong Rugby Sevens April 2024 There's no doubt about it: the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens is easily the most hotly anticipated event in Hong Kong's sporting calendar. Why? More than just a thrilling display of brute force and athleticism, the Rugby Sevens is all about the atmosphere. From madcap costumes to drinks aplenty, this is one event where, for better or for worse, people truly let loose. 4. Mega Ice Hockey 5’s April to May 2024 April and May are scorching in Hong Kong, but that doesn't mean you can't escape with some icy action at the hockey arena. Completely free to watch, more than 80 teams will come from all over the world to participate in this competition. 5. Dragon Boat Racing June 2024 The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Races, a colossal event attracting over 100,000 spectators, unfold beneath the iconic Victoria Harbour skyline at the Central Harbourfront of Hong Kong Island. With a rich history rooted in Hong Kong and southern China, dragon boat racing has evolved into a global phenomenon, drawing teams from around the world. The races are marked by intense competition, corporate sponsorships, and months of dedicated practice. The event has grown so significant that international teams travel specifically to join the exhilarating competition. As flags flutter and drums resound along the waterfront, teams vie for glory, creating an electric atmosphere. 6. New World Harbour Race November 2024 The New World Harbour Race, a historic event dating back to 1906, has become a cherished spectacle in Hong Kong, drawing participants and spectators from around the world. Taking place in the iconic Victoria Harbour, the race sees thousands of swimmers racing from Wan Chai to Tsim Sha Tsui against the backdrop of the stunning Hong Kong skyline. Despite a hiatus from 1978 to 2011 due to water quality concerns, the race has regained popularity, attracting both competitive and leisure swimmers. Prime viewing spots include Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade and Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai. 7. Horse racing at Happy Valley and Shatin Racecourses Year-round Horse racing has a long history in the territory: Brought to Hong Kong by the British way back in 1841, the very first racecourse, the Happy Valley Racecourse, was opened in 1845. As exalted an event today as it was back then, going to the races is a popular activity, particularly among Hong Kong's expat residents.
