What to see and do in Sai Wan Ho
Enjoy a peaceful walk along the harbour at Sai Wan Ho Waterfront Park. Located along the promenade, there’s a floating museum housed in a retired fireboat. The Alexander Grantham Fireboat Gallery gives visitors a unique look at Hong Kong’s firefighting history– but also, it’s just cool to look around and totally family-friendly.
Dive into Hong Kong’s film history at the Hong Kong Film Archive, which offers free exhibitions and screenings of classic films.
For a scenic ride, head to the Sai Wan Ho Ferry Pier where ferries depart for Lei Yue Mun and Kwun Tong. This leisurely ferry trip offers lovely views of the harbour. Alternatively, you can head to Tung Lung Chau, a lush, largely uninhabited island.
What to eat and drink in Sai Wan Ho
Although Tung Po Kitchen has now closed, there’s still delicious and locally focused food to be had in Sai Wan Ho.
A tightly packed warren of food stalls, Tai On Building is a great place to experience Hong Kong’s favourite street eats. Think Hainanese chicken rice, cart noodles, and spongy fishballs made by hand.
