The BIG Picnic

10:30am – 8:00pm
Free

Say goodbye to the city and head out to Lantau’s biggest music and dance festival, The BIG Picnic, held at scenic Tai Pak Beach, Discovery Bay.

The BIG Picnic is a community charity event that is free to attend, with multiple live music stages both at the Main Plaza and on Tai Pak Beach, where Hong Kong’s more than 20 top local bands will be putting on awesome performances for the crowds.

The Main Plaza area, adjacent to the ferry terminal, will have lots of market stalls from Handmade Hong Kong showcasing local crafters and creators, plus a Dance Stage and a Plaza Stage for performers.

Tai Pak Beach will also have two stages for the bands, plus beach bars with cold local brews and a wide range of drinks, food tents and pop-up restaurants. This event is family friendly, with beach volleyball, a kids play area, face painting and a bouncy castle.

Discovery Bay has a wide range of restaurants around the Main Plaza with a selection of international cuisines and shopping opportunities.

Getting to DB is easy, with a relaxing 30-minute ferry ride from Central Pier 3, over to Lantau Island. You can alternatively catch the Discovery Bay buses from Tung Chung Bus Terminal.
