Love fashion? Visit this boundary-breaking exhibition that explores the history of French fashion.
What to expect
The Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris is making its Asian debut at the Hong Kong Palace Museum with its most comprehensive collection of historical French fashion.
From June 26 to October 14, 2024, you can see 300 exquisitely preserved pieces of French costume, jewellery, and accessories spanning from the late 18th to the early 20th centuries.
Many of these treasures are being shown in Asia for the first time, with some pieces never before seen outside of Paris. This is a rare chance to witness France’s national fashion collection up close and personal.
Moreover, the exhibition promises to be interactive and engage with the current era. Expect to see references from movie excerpts, and head to the interactive dressing room area to try on the clothes yourself– virtually, of course. Fun fact: The audio guide for this exhibition is narrated by icon Karen Mok in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin Chinese.
