For one day only, Chater Road Pedestrian Precinct transforms into an open-air organic market and carnival.
What happens?
This annual one-day event features a pop-up organic market and street fair, organised by the Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre Certification Limited.
Expect nearly 100 stalls selling everything from just-harvested local veggies and fish to eco products and herbal snacks, certified organic and homegrown. There’ll also be a good mix of family-friendly workshops, plus game booths, exhibitions, and live performances.
It’s easy to forget where your veg comes from in a city like Hong Kong — until you try to find a tomato that didn’t fly in on a plane. Around 90% of Hong Kong’s food is imported, mostly from mainland China, but also from as far as Australia, Japan, and the United States, so this is a solid way to support small producers.
How to get there
Use Exit J2 of Central Station and walk a few minutes.
