Summertime and junk boats go hand in hand. It’s a great way to get out on the water, enjoy Hong Kong’s beautiful scenery, and party with friends.
Most Hong Kong residents simply gather up a big group of friends and acquaintances, and charter a junk for a day themselves. However, if you’re a tourist, how do you take part in one of these legendary boat parties?
Thankfully there are a few event companies that organize junk trips, with free flowing drinks, food, music, games, and an awesome trip out to a beautiful bay in Hong Kong’s eastern waters.
What to expect
The Lets Junk Boat Party is held by Lets Events, and they’ve booked a triple decker junk boat for the fun-filled day trip.
And it is certainly an all-day event, starting with a pick up at 9:30 am at the Sai Kung Pier, and returning around 6:30 pm.
Other than food and drink, there will also be slides, banana boats, wake boarding, jet skis, and other fun water activities.
The food offered on board also has vegetarian options, and there are plenty of snacks and soft drinks. Beer, cocktails, vodka and coconut water are all available on the drink menu. And since you don’t have to drink and drive (yay for Hong Kong’s always amazing public transport), you can really relax and enjoy yourself.
The price for this day of fun starts at HK$680.00 for early bird tickets, and rises to HK$750.00 after August 10th. There are discounts for groups of five people or more.
