Specialising in practical home and office furniture, this no-nonsense store offers everything from sturdy desks and ergonomic chairs to simple bed frames and storage solutions. Prices are competitive, and bulk-buy discounts make it a solid option for those furnishing entire spaces on a budget. While the focus is on function, you can still find sleek, modern pieces at a fraction of the price of big-name retailers. They also do custom-made. Playful, space-saving Nordic designs perfect for small Hong Kong homes: Ziinlife Website Founded in Shanghai in 2011, Ziinlife’s Nordic-inspired furniture is playful and sleek. Its Dali table series has a folding end design that inclines to the wall – perfect for Hong Kong’s small apartment. The Up Desk can be adjusted to different heights, perfect for both kids and adults. If you’re a fan of IKEA’s flat-pack furniture, you're guaranteed the same satisfaction with Ziinlife. Most of their furniture comes in a flat pack. You can choose to build them yourself or add a small sum (usually around ) to have it built for you on-site. Keep in mind that the lead time is about two to three months for most pieces. On trend and accessible: Zara Home Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong and Crawford House, Central The fashion brand also has a home department that sells equally affordable furniture and accessories. Zara Home stocks both big and small home items from rugs to coffee tables to photo frames. While not all items are sturdily built, everything is easy to match and Instagrammable. Some of the items are only available online and not available at their physical store. Baby Central Website From minimalist Babyletto gliders to elegant Danish baby cribs by Leander, Baby Central is the go-to website for nursery furniture and more. Who doesn’t want a comfortable and safe swivel rocking chair to read in? Kids’ furniture aside, it is also a great place to buy beanbags, cute poufs and machine-washable rugs (that look like a Monstera Leaf). The online-only shop stocks various items in Hong Kong which can be delivered quickly– think within a few days. Although there is no showroom for you to see the actual products, the service is trustworthy and responsive. The Editors Company Website “Home styling is a great way to do so which are great for many people who are renting or simply has a place that doesn't require major renovations,” says Chin. Less common in Hong Kong than traditional interior designers, home stylists refresh and enhance a space much like a personal stylist can update and customise your wardrobe– without the need for radical changes. The Editors Company, one of the few styling companies in Hong Kong, collaborate with clients from creating a floor layout to curating furniture and décor from various brands. The service charges a flat fee of per room. There is no additional markup on the furniture they recommend. But it is a great way to save time and energy, especially if you don’t know where to look. Preloved finds in an always-on-the-move city: Carousell Website Hong Kong is a transient city, with people constantly moving in and out, meaning there’s always a steady stream of secondhand furniture up for grabs. Carousell is the go-to marketplace for scoring preloved (and sometimes brand-new) pieces at bargain prices. From designer sofas to IKEA staples, you can find just about anything, often at a fraction of retail prices. Many listings require self-pickup, so keep a cart handy or find some friends who'll help you haul stuff– those ladder streets are serious business!
