What better place to launch the world’s first life-sized, immersive, fully interactive board game about hoarding properties than Hong Kong? And there is surely no better location then the newly revamped Peak Galleria---located on Victoria Peak, which holds some of the most expensive real estate in all of Hong Kong too. Monopoly Dreams, which opened on October 26, 2019, was one of the highly anticipated new attractions at the new Peak Galleria, which has undergone extensive renovations that took more than two years. After temporarily closing due to Covid, the attraction fully reopened in February 2021. What to expect at Monopoly Dreams Though the attraction is based on the board game, there’s a new premise: players experience Monopoly Dreams by entering Mr. Monopoly’s secret mansion, where a mysterious stranger is hiding inside, planning to steal Mr. Monopoly’s diamond sceptre. Players must work together to help Mr. Monopoly protect the sceptre by moving through the game and using interactive technology. The game has all the classic elements, complete with a bank, title deeds to properties and utilities such as railroads and water works, as well as Chance cards. While moving through the mansion, you’ll hunt for clues in the Study Room, try your luck at the Fortune Board, visit the 4D Theatre, open Mr. Monopoly’s secret vault, and have a frenzied Money Grab at the Ultimate Banking room. However, just like in the board game, you can also get penalised, or end up in jail! Merch Monopoly Dreams will have its own Tuck Shop, with absolutely adorable Monopoly-themed decor, and a gift shop, where you can buy the Hong Kong version of the board game, plus lots of other great souvenirs that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.
