Bakehouse is a local café/bakery chain that does brisk morning business offering a range of sourdough bread, baguettes, croissants, and other pastries as well as cooked breakfasts and cereal.
Morning pastries range from HK$22.00 for a croissant through to HK$40.00 for a sausage roll, but it’s their egg tarts (HK$12.50) you really want to try.
Wan Chai is the only location offering dine-in and boasts indulgent brunch and lunch options (think blue crab omelette) as well as all the classics like eggs, avocado, and granola — with all breads and granolas freshly made in house. Prices range from HK$68.00 to HK$208.00. Coffees are from HK$25.00 to HK$50.00. In addition to coffees they serve cold pressed juices, some interesting iced teas, and sodas as well as a wide selection of hot teas. If you’re after a wee bit of hair of the dog, the breakfast menu even includes cocktails (HK$88.00).
The takeaway only locations often have a queue outside the door, regardless of the time of day but this queue moves quickly and is well worth the wait.
