The Discovery Bay Open Water Race and Triathlon Challenge caters to swimmers and triathletes of varying skill levels, offering a range of engaging race events. What to expect First things first: what's a triathlon again? A triathlon is a multi-disciplinary endurance sports event that consists of three continuous and sequential endurance disciplines: typically swimming, cycling, and running, in that order. Participants compete to complete the race in the shortest overall time, including the transitions between the different legs. At the inaugural edition of the Discovery Bay Open Water Race and Triathlon Challenge, participants can choose from three solo swim races (covering distances of 3.8km, 1.7km, and 400m), a family 400m swim relay, as well as Aquathon, Duathlon, and Triathlon races (solo or relay).
