This free exhibition revives the glowing heritage that once defined Hong Kong’s streetscape, blending salvaged icons with bold contemporary neon art.
What to expect
Once an iconic part of Hong Kong, neon signs have largely disappeared due to safety concerns. Luminous Neon exhibition brings them back to life where visitors can expect a nostalgic yet forward‑looking journey through the craft, culture, and creativity of neon.
Co‑presented by the Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) and Tetra Neon Exchange (TNX), Luminous Neon features legendary signs such as the Golden Phoenix Grill Restaurant, Tai Ping Koon Restaurant, the Nam Cheong Pawn Shop, and the Ray‑Ban‑inspired frames from Tai Cheong Eyeglasses, all carefully restored to their former glow. New creations by contemporary neon artisans will also feature in both 2D and 3D exhibitions for visitors to enjoy.
Admission is free.
