February’s cool weather makes it a great time to enjoy being outdoors. Head to the West Kowloon Cultural District to take advantage of a free two day event this month, taking place at the district’s Freespace and Art Park.
With a weekend full of live music, dance, camping, workshops, films, installations and more, there are lots of fun things to go out and see for free. There are also guided tours of the Art Park by overseas and local artists, musicians and community groups partners. The event promises great performances, a relaxing atmosphere, and family fun right on Victoria Harbour.
On the Great Lawn music stage, local Hong Kong bands Henry Chung & The Spontaneous Combustion, Blaster, Cow Head and CHANKA will be performing. There are also three bands coming from Korea—Black String, Sinnoi, and Saturday’s headliners indie rockers Se So Neon.
At Lau Bak Livehouse, live music sessions will take place on both afternoons, plus after-dark dj showcases presented by electronic music label FuFu.
Other fun activities are handicraft workshops, a doggie blind date, and outdoor screenings of two animated movies. You can also register to stay overnight stay at the House of Hong Kong Literature’s magical literature camp, and take part in a meditative performance of singing bowls at dawn.
Whatever your age and interests, you’ll find a weekend full of fun at Freespace Outdoors.
